What are you using it for? correct me if I am wrong but I think the architecture on the Pentium D is more optimal for Microsoft office and things of that sort, where as the X2 is better for gaming.

Deffently get the X2, I had a pentium D, apart form the X2 beating it, the pentium D puts out major heat.. so you need fairly good cooling... I had it in a Antech P180 with 4 120mm fans, AS5 and a Zalman 9500 and my temps were still hitting 60C+... and the room was only 10-15C.
yea, i love how people say it does better in office, like anyone can really tell a difference, and since there are amazing benchmarks strictly for office programs and how fast your cpu can run it. :freak:
Bottom line, you wont notice a difference in the two CPUs as far as programs go. But like everyone else said, the X2 is better for gaming.
