i have an intel d945gntlkr lying around from a previous build.

i was wondering if it is possible for me to fit that mobo with a core 2 duo e6420 seeing that the board supports 1066mhz fsb.

Peter is correct. It's not compatible. Does not say Core 2 Duo, under CPU type.

There are a couple of sites you can actually go to for determining hardware compatibility. One is isitcompatible.com or something like that.

thanks for the reply but ive looked at some hp systems and they use an intel 945G chipset with the 1066 fsb core 2 duos.

all these use the 945G chipset

wouldnt the processor be compatible with the mobo as it has a 1066mhz fsb?

It doesn't mean, all 945G chipsets are compatible with C2Ds. That particular model, just doesn't support C2Ds. See for yourself at intel.com:

oh so i guess that the 1066fsb doesn't matter then.

not to seem persistent but is there anyway i can get it to run the c2d 800/1066fsb. through a bios update or something or do i just have to get a new mobo?

b1gapl is dead on the money. That board does not support C2D. It came out well before C2D hit the market.

The board looks to be a good one, though.
