very quick question on AGP graphics card speed for a friend

My friend posted this on another forum i visit and nobody replied except me so i just want confirmation really..........

This is what he said:
"ok .. so , older mobo ,will an 8X agp work or does it need to be a 4X agp?*


Think what he's asking is will a 8x work if the currant card is 4x? i told him i think it will work but the difference will be minimal

Yes....it will work. The 8x AGP video card in a 4x slot, will just run at 4x. Simple as that.

it will only run under whatever agp spec he has you could prolly even pop it into a 2x slot
