cant log in

hi,
I think i may have deleted something from the registry when getting rid of malware. now when i get to the welcome/log in screen and click the user account it goes to log in and then just logs out straight away and goes back to the welcome/log in screen. no error messages or anything. The exact same thing happens in safe mode. Is there any way to get into xp to fix the problem?? or is my laptop screwed??

Hello,

When booting into Windows XP, hit F8 and choose to boot using Last known good configuration and see if you can log into Windows successfully.
