i basically just want to play any game out at the highest settings...nothing else really just games.
so any suggestions, could i get something else, but i have to keep it at 1000 or less.

is the E4300 going to be different performance wise to the previous dual core i suggested? and the video card better than X1900gt, the new one seems a bit slow?

Theres no significant difference in performance between the two processors. Just overclock it. And the 8600GTS is much faster than the X1900GT. Plus it's DX10 compliant.

instead of the 8600, what if i get the 8800 gts, its only $1108 for everything, would that be a better deal? could i get any other parts of my setup cheaper to save around 100 to 200 dollars?

oh yea....the 8800GTS can play anything at high settings, with your monitor resolution.

if i decided to overclock, not by a lot just like to 2.4ghz or something, then would i need some extra hardware?

at 2.4, will i see a huge performance difference or can i go higher without buying any new hardware? and with everything ill get will i be able to run any game out rite now at their highest settings possible without lag and a good fps?

At 2.4 it will perform the same as an e6600. I'm not sure how far you can take it on stock cooling. Depends on your temps. If your temps get high, then you should get an aftermarket cooler. On that monitor....yes, you can play all games out right now high settings.
