ok this is what i dont get.... i put xubuntu on a sony vaio pcg-fx270k.... the specs says it can take a max of 512 ram... so i put in one stick of 128 and another stick of 256.....but it only reads as if 128 is in... even if i run the 256 stick alone... it still only sees 128 help!
hope this isn't the old "high-density" memory issue :/. if you have or can get a hold of (without paying) another 128mb stick try the two together to see if it detects 256mb. how many slots are there?
