Hello, i recently installed a Pentium 4 2.56mhz socket 478 into my motherboard and booted my pc up, all was fine and got to the desktop, was a bit slower than usual but it all seemed fine. I then decided to restart my system and it kicked straight into BIOS and telling me i had a error with the CPU external frequancey, i ignored this and let it boot up and after 2 minutes the computer powered off, so after several attempts to power it up i turned the setting down to 100mhz x 19, and i still have the same problem with it either struggling to boot up at all or boots up for around 2 minutes and suddenly turns off!

Im struggling with ideas on what the cpu is doing to cause this !

I just watched the Bios CPU temp and it reached 72.5 Degrees before powering off again.

I'm also hearing a beep from my motherboard i dont usually hear when i power it up, so thats telling me theres something wrong but to nehonest im not sure what, all the fans and connections seem fine.

Please help, thank you
