CPU Temperature runs at 60c while IDLE and up to 80c

It will definitely lower your temps. It dropped mine 11 degrees! Did your case fans, come in yet?

I might be applying the thermal compound like a moron though. I have done my best to follow the steps on Arctic Silvers website

Is there a morons guide to thermal compound?
 
No, that's correct too. That's what I do, because putting the heatsink on the grain of AS5, will just spread it.

yeah, I was going to say, Arctic silver says to just put a drop, if that was wrong ...(scratches head) I'm going to try the credit card method anyway as the other way just ain't working ....

My MB has the latest BIOS:confused: :confused:

Can a hot CPU have a negative impact on system performance? and on the flip side, can a super cool CPU run faster?
