$700 Video-Editing rig for friend, does it look ok?

He asked me to build him a $700 PC for XP intended for Video-Editing. Does it look alright, or could something be better?

What sort of video editing would he be doing, overall for that kind of money I think its ok, someone else may have other opinions, but I know more about gaming pcs than any others but by the looks of it 7/10.

He just uses pinnacle and i showed him how to use lsmaker and stuff like that but hes tired of trying to buy time on his family pc so he wants one of his own.

If it is heavy video-editing not casual i.e. more then once every 2 months then he will need 3 gb of ram and he will want more hdd space and you shouldn't use the psu that comes with the case even if it is a good brand a stand-alone psu would be better. Your case should have a front panel connector for fire wire and there is one built in to the motherboard

4 gigs of ram on a $700 pc? I dont think so... and it has that firewire add-on card, but he uses a mini-dvd camera anyways.

well 6400 ram is for overclocking just buy lower speed ram and get more of it you can still overclock just not to the extremes that you could get but you get the memory power to edit videos

512mb-1gb- general use xp-vista
2gb- gaming
3gb- video editing ( I would say 2x1gb and 2x512mb)
4gb-Cad

Even if they aren't going to overclock DDR2-800 will become the standard someday and it not being much more than 677 he might as well get it. Plus eventually maybe they'll want to overclock when they notice a 65 buck CPU is beating theirs >.<

Um stock PSU? Please at least grab a cheap rosewill or something over one of those....you don't want his system blowing if you get a bad one. A 700 system should NOT be using a case PSU.

those raidmax psu's are *decent* with all other things in consideration.
