i just put in an old working PATA HDD in my dfi nf4 and wen i formatted the HDD, during post it would say "a read disk error occured Ctrl+alt+del to restart" whats going on? now my current HDD gives the same error.

Did you format the old hard drive before you put it in the case? Make sure the computer is trying to boot off of it in the BIOS, and make sure that you have the jumpers right on the back of both hard drives.

Have you tried running FDisk outside of windows? FDisk allows you to delete the partition and then create a new partition, after which you have to reformat the disk so it is usable. Often this solves even the strangest of hard drive problems.

If running FDisk doesnt work you could try a Knoppix Live CD. Its Linux on a CD that you use to boot into Linux and can preform utilities on your hard drive, such as partitioning it, and reformatting it.
