I have an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop with an AMD Turion 64 x 2 mobile processor, 1 gig ram, with an Atheros AR5005G wireless network adapter. This system is running Windows XP Media Center and has been working flawlessly on our wireless network for over a month until yesterday.
Suddenly it does not see, and will not connect to our wireless network unless you unplug the A/C power cord. If you let it run on the battery only, it immediately detects and connects to the wireless network. As soon as you plug in the A/C power cord, it disconnects and not longer can detect the network.
Any ideas?

Some how under the power saving mode it turns off the wifi adapter. In the control panel there is a power icon, open that and you should see the option of what turns off on battery mode on one of the tabs. I cant tell you exactly, because I am at a desktop right now and don't have all the options you do. Just look around, and you should see something there.
