CL2 and CL2.5 RAM

I just bought an additional 512MB stick of RAM to supplement the 2 512 sticks I already have

but the pc wont boot with both sets installed. I think I may have bought the wrong kind of RAM

RAM Spec:

Old Stuff:

Corsair (VS1GBKIT400) 1024MB (2 x 512MB Matched Pair), DDR400 / PC3200, non-ECC, Unbuffered, CL2.5

New Stuff:

Kingston Hyperx 512MB DDR 400MHz PC3200 Non-ECC CL2 (2-3-2-6-1) DIMM

is it because one set is CL2.5 and the other CL2??

is there any way of sorting this without replacing the new memory?
