I wanted to set up a virtual machine running Ubuntu on my computer. I downloaded VMware and installed it. I downloaded the Ubuntu Iso file and I got this vmx file(attachment). It opens up the first page that lets you install the OS and check the CD for defects and such, but once I choose Install Ubuntu It just gets into a neverending CPU loop. I opened up the Ubuntu.txt document it saves (not the attachment) when closing VMware and it said this thousands of times:
vcpu-0| AIOWIN32: 'ubuntu-7.04-desktop-i386.iso' : Failed to read: Reached the end of the file (38).
I've downloaded the iso twice now, is it still a faulty iso? or is something else wrong with it?

Are you running on vista? Vista does not currently support VR machines except their virtual machine products.

I am running XP. Silverlord what do you mean? I don't think it will make any difference because I don't have any network drives besides my other family member's computers which don't have Ubuntu.

Sorry, realized this may have been the wrong place for this thread.
