only one I have had no problems that are being talked about is Maxtor. Everybody I know that had WD have gone to maxtors and no more hard drive problems. From what ive experienced its been 1 out of 10 people who had luck with WD. Thats just my experience tho. Maxtor is A+ in my book and WD drives below the raptor dont exist to me. Knock on wood I decided to give the raptor drive a try from nothing but good feedback and so far so good.

I have built 40+ systems over the last year using WD hd's for friends/customers and use them in my personal computers without any problems to date. No experience with any other brand.
Might check out newegg.com and read the customer reviews on the hd's you have in mind. I wouldnt base my decision to purchase a product soley off of the eggs reviews though.
