Cost for 500G harddrive

I've been looking for a reasonably cheap price on a harddrive, and here is what I found so far:

around $125 for 500G internal drives on Newegg.

around $175 for 500G external drive on Newegg.

Does anyone know anything cheaper than this? I feel a bit guilty because I mistakenly told a pal he could get 500G for under $50

Tell him, it's not going to happen, and that it was a mistake. 500GB hard drives ranges from $130-200+.

dont be afraid to buy recertified...its how i got my harddrive...which btw was comlpletely reconstructed before it was shipped from newegg.
