System Crashes When CD is in DVD DRIVE

No, the drivers werent always like this. They were working fine until It tried to burn a CD. The computer then crashed, so I ended up rebooting it. When I rebooted it, I retried to burn the CD. Every Since then, it has been acting up.
Also, I never used my CD drive. I only used the DVD driver. So its a bit weird that the CD drive is acting up too.

that doesn't rule out being the drive itself.

Still you could try updating the ASPI drivers

Thanks for all the help guys. I've fixed this problem. It seems that the drive couldn't read any CDs. I popped in a Windows XP CD and went to Bios, set it to read the drive first. It read the CD fine, ended up reformating the computer. Worked fine after I reformated it.

So it read the CD fine - but not in XP
I think that reinstalling the ASPI drivers would have worked.
