Videocard for 100-175$

I was looking through a bunch of videocards at newegg. But it seems that the card I always get becomes the worst rated card..

Can you help?
I need the best possible card for 100$-175$
This is for my little brothers computer , it has:
2.5 gigs of value ram
amd athlon 64 3700+
Asrock Vsta 939
And a bunch of cooling.

I was thinking maybe

kind of more than I was wanting to spend, but its pretty cheap.
But if it will be possible to get a 100-150$ card that is close, or can surpass that card, please dont hesisate.

try the 8600 gts gt or ultra, those are pretty good (dx 10 and on par with the 7900 gs) and overclockable to a X1950pro

thing is too, i have a crappy 550w psu.. and im kind of actually leaning towards 200<150$

is the 7600gt any good?

its very good!! its mid-range lvl card but gives u really decent frame rates on games (but isn't the 7900 gs an evolved 7600 gt and a 8600 gt evolved 7900 gs?)

yeh it seems so, but the 8600 is a bit more expensive. almost 100$ more.

You should just get the 7900GS and overclock it yourself:

edit: The 7600GT is a great card for the money. I guess it just depends if you want to spend less or a little more.

try the geforce 8500 or 8600 the 85 is $100 and the 86 is $200. both are DX10. so buying a 7 series is pretty much dumb now thta you can get DX10 for a reasonable price.

but ddr2? I hear from alot of people that its not that good of a card. By the time Dx10 comes out, those cards will be pretty much obsolete and unable to play anything decent.
I'm sure everyone thinks that DX10s biggest thing has gotta be Crysis.
And I don't think that'll play crysis,

one question though.
Can the 8800s even play crysis? I know its direct X 10, but I don't know..
