One of my computers that I have at home for some reason had a file corruption with my Windows XP OS, which would allow me to boot into Windows. I used the program from Western Digital, which I used to write zeros to the drive. My HD had a capacity of 250 gigs. Now when I reinstall Windows, I now notice that my HD capacity dropped to around 140, which was exactly the amount of one of the two partitions on my drive. So did my other partition of like 100 gigs just disappear? But I don't think that physically it disappeared, so is there a way to recover the missing 100 gigs? Thx.

The 100gigs is in another unformatted partition. You need to use a partition program like Partition Magic to format the partition.

you could try booting from the windows xp disc and deleating all partitions there .then format with it too.
