Hey, I'm looking to buy a new hard drive but don't know what make to go for.

I'm looking for a steady reliable hard drive, I can spend from £30-£60 or can go a little extra if its worth the money.

Just want to know what makes I should look for.
From England so would need to be able to ship over here.

Thanks in advance :).

Either Seagate or Western Digital. They are the best brands. I think Seagates are favored around here. I could be wrong.

I would HIGHLY recommend Seagate.... #1 in the industry, and ALL the drives come with a 5 year warrenty. If you choose not to get a Seagate, look at Western Digital if you MUST.....

Whats the difference between SATA 1&2 and IDE (PATA) and on the seagates it says 7200.8-7200.9-7200.10. I'm guessing .10 means it's more new?

Thanks again

SATA 1 is 1.5gb/s and 2 is 3.0 gb/s, pata is a difference thing and depends on ata-***. Im not quite sure what your numbers are

you want Sata2 or SataII or sata3gb/sec if your motherboard can support it. what motherboard do you have? yes the 7200.10 barracudas are the newest model how much hardrive space are you looking for??
