$969.90 and comes with about $30 in rebates, only thing its missing is a mouse & keyboard. Power supply is better than the dell, the chipset is better and supports faster RAM (ddr800), has 2 gigs ram ddr 800 instead of 1 gig ddr 667, also he would have the option of overclocking his processor which he wouldn't with the dell, has a video card that will actually run pc games and run them very well (7300's suck), analog monitors suck the picture on this would be a lot better too.

the amd system would have very comparable performance to the intel c2d you just did and the graphics would be better on the amd (the amd may benefit from an x1950xt instead of the 8600gt the x1950xt is $30 cheaper and is suppose to have better performance)

He can get 8600GTS for $195

Remember that 8600GTS is more future proof. In shader-intensive games the 8600GTS outperforms 7950GT, and since most of the future games are going to be shader-intensive, then I assume that 8600GTS can match 7900GTX in future games.

You can also overclock 8600GTS to 1GHz with air-cooling, when you volt-mode it

Nagasama... Just wondering why you chose to go with AMD rather than Intel..?

Some of you guys are forgetting the monitor and ms vista... haha

montdj, your link doesn't work.... it's only viewable if you are logged in with your account.... I'm curious on what you set up is...

lol because i am an amd fanboy, of course...everyone here knows that.
really, though...the 3600 is supposedly a fantastic overcloclocker, it costs over 100.00 less than an e6300 for comprable performance, and the am2 socket will be compatible with the new amd cpus coming out this fall, which are supposed to be the king of all cpus to date.
i like macdawgs build too, though. but i suggest the dx10 card in a brand new build.
p.s. dont count on rebates unless they are instant and given by newegg.

MS Vista is a rip off... why don't they let you buy one and use it for multiple computers?... I'm sure I can load it on multiple computers but if I update it they'll find out and sue me right? haha

Do these computers use more electricity than those cheap economy computers (like a celeron w/ no graphics cards)? I don't want my bills going up even when I just use this thing for normal everyday usage......

either will work

but that dell really isnt very good at all the graphics are horrible, and only 1gb of ram?
there are plenty of builds out there for about 800 bucks that could beat its ***

um... out of curiousity................................ the motherboards you guys recommended me......... do they have a monitor port? the vga plug or w/e... b/c I was gonna wait to buy a video card... mean time using a integrated port?? I have a feeling it doesn't have the port for the monitor??
