I want to build a computer, I was wondering if im missing anything(below) and where you like buy your hardware(online).

850Watt Quad SLI Power Supply
Intel Quad Core QX6700 Processor
Quad SLI Mainboard
4GB Low-Latency DDR-2 Memory
(2) GeForce 8800GTX 768MB DDR Video Card
Ageia PhysX 128mb Accelerator
(2) 750GB SATA2 16mb Cache Hard Drive
(2) 20X DVD +/-/R/RW DL Drive
Creative X-FI Fatal1ty Sound Card
Logitech Z5400 5.1 Channel Digital Sound System
Logitech G-15 Keyboard & G-7 Gaming Mouse
22" Samsung LCD 5ms Response

I would also like to know if Its worth getting Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.

First I would buy off of Newegg.com

Second theres a lot of things wasted in that build.

You do not need 850w for SLI. 700w on that kind of build is plenty.

You do NOT need 4GB of memory for gaming....the only thing 4GB helps on is some serious video editing and CAD. 2GB is still the standard. Get G.skill HZ's for your memory.

A PhysX processor is useless and I would not buy one and the 8800GTX comes with it's own physics chip.

Make sure you RAID 0 those SATA2's with Baracuda 7200.10's or instead maybe even a raptor with that kind of budget.

The Quad-core doesn't really help that much in gaming and are still in early stages. I would get an E6600 and be done with it.

Also Vista sucks for gaming right now and I would use XP Pro.

So?

OCZ Technology GameXStream 700W
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Quad SLI Mainboard
Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB
(2) GeForce 8800GTX 768MB DDR Video Card
(2) Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750GB SATAII
(2) 20X DVD +/-/R/RW DL Drive
Creative X-FI Fatal1ty Sound Card
Logitech Z5400 5.1 Channel Digital Sound System
Logitech G-15 Keyboard & G-7 Gaming Mouse
22" Samsung LCD 5ms Response

Patriot Extreme but look for G.skill HZ's.

They are the black model and are D9 chips...very very fast for the money and thats all you will need.

The Gamestream is pretty good. Good enough for that build.

For a motherboard I suggest an MSI 650i Platinum. The 650i and 680i perform the exact same when in SLI.

OCZ Technology GameXStream 700W $149.99
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 $308
MSI 650i Platinum $166.99
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 $174.99
(2) GeForce 8800GTX 768MB DDR Video Card $1159.98
(2) Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 750GB SATAII $509.98
(2) 20X DVD +/-/R/RW DL Drive $77.42
Creative X-FI Fatal1ty Sound Card $182.99
Creative Inspire P7800 90 Watts 7.1 Speaker $66.99
Creative HD7600L 5 Buttons 1 Wheel Gaming Mouse $41.99
Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard $71.99
SAMSUNG 225BW Black 22" 5 ms Widescreen LCD $299.99
Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Computer Case $129.99

Total= $3383.28

monitor viewsonic VX2245 if you have an ipod other wise the Vx2435 or 2245 great screens and look incredible!!!! I would go with an Abit AW9D-max motherboard compare your current one with that and see which you prefer. The seagate barracuda 500gb are slightly faster so get 3 of them and raid or do the harddrive setup I currently have which is 2x500gb Raid0 = 1tb and 320gb for Os and personal programs. Why do you need so much space if you dont mind me asking?? you could put some money to the side and buy the evga version of the 8800gtx's that way you can use the step-up program and trade in the 8800Gtx for the more powerful 8900Gt or 8950Gt and sli them. You need a cpu cooler and artic silver 5 thermal paste. Surely you can buy some nicer speakers with your money. Get windows xp media centre edition it is just like pro but with an added theme and media interface.

Audiophile with an overabundance of games and a growing interest in CAD. :freak:

Im thinking about this one, what do you suggest?

Get windows xp media centre edition it is just like pro but with an added theme and media interface.

One of my main reasons for building this is gaming, does Media Center lack in this area compared to XP pro, when I look at most of my games system requirements they usually require XP or 2k.

I checked to see if the mobo and ram would be compatible, from what I've seen they are not... could someone double check, thanks.

media centre edition is xp it has the usual taskbar and desktop with an added media interface program it can play all games but has some corporate tools disabled. Lol you must be a serious music lover I have mine for films and an Intranet server people pay me monthly to rent gb of space :D
the cpu cooler you have chosen is one of the top 5 I would say for air cooling its suppose to be a bit heavy on the motherboard though so be careful if transporting the pc allot
