dual xeon motherboard?

Thank you. I looked at them but they were might exspensive. But since you gave the reccomendation they might be worth it.
 
You could use normal apps with those but it would not take advantage of the dual processors. You have to have apps specially designed for that to take advantage of them.
 
HOLD UP!!!!! am i seeing two cpus on on board, on a home computer??

when did this happen? how does it work?
 
lol its gonna be used to run avid xpress pro. Xeons are used mainly for servers but i know they do duals for servers and also duals for video editing comps because alienware has it and my friend goes to a film school where they use it.
 
Most (practically all) applications used by home-users have not been designed to utilise dual processors. There are applications that you can buy that change registries so that you can manually change applications to use the power of both processors.

If applications used both processors I would have Dual-Xeon.

Also dual-processor motherboards don't support AGP x8 or anything higher than DDR266.

All-in-all the system wouldn't really be that fast for everyday applications.
