PDF creator software

Which is a good PDF creater (free) software? Adobe has something called adobe distiller where I just need to print something and then choose that particular printer icon then it will save the file as PDF. But you have to pay for it.

Is there any thing similar free?

Cutepdf is as described, a printer icon that prints pdfs. Used it a year ago til now and no problems, no spam, just a good pdf maker. I used Microsoft Word to make my documents.
