Hi, I have a laptop and am currently using the rubbishy inbuilt speakers that come with most laptops. I have tried connecting a guitar amplifier to my laptop and it does play sound at loud volumes fine but at low volumes it picks up on other sounds e.g. when i am scrolling in an application the sound will skip. When i turn up my laptop's performance, there is a louder fuzziness that can be heard. I don't think it is a problem at my laptop's end as when i connect cheap £20 speakers to it it plays perfect sounding sound

I plug my amp into the standard headphone jack.

Would using a usb sound output thing help. Or would changing settings on the amp such as gain/level/volume solve some of the problems.

Thanks for the help

Ian

wildly guessing...
you are more limited by how good your laptop's audio is...
getting a usb audio device to act as the intermediate would solve your problem...assuming quality levels.

again...guessing :D

edit: might be better in audio section?
