iTunes Error 400

I've searched these forums and am not sure if this is where to put this thread but I'll give it a go. It's been a while since I've posted here but I've recently run into trouble with my iTunes. It's version 7.0.0.70. I receive the following error:
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (400).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
But no matter how many times I try again I receive the same error. It's a recent problem. I used to have iTunes 7.1 but it had the same problem so that's when I downgraded to 7.0 with no avail. I found that iTunes 4.8 used to have the problem but has since been fixed, something about internet cookies. I've cleared my cookies and temporary Internet files and receive the same error. I've done a virus and spyware scan and defraged. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm sure it's something simple but you never know...
