Having this annoying problem that I cannot diagnose myself. It takes my pc about 6-10 tries before it loads sucessfully. The computers new and should absolutely not be doing this.

It loads up to the windows screen (with the green meter showing loading) and just completely powers off. After enough tries, it finally loads. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds a lot like something is loose or power issue. Probably hardware related.
Is this the computer in your signature?
Has it ever struggle to boot before the OS bar even comes on?
Has it ever failed a POST?

yes the pc in my sig. but no, i always get a post. I think its almost always just inbetween or around the loading window. this hasn't always happened. i used a registry fixx/clean once and it only found a few minor changes, nothing of note. I dont think its my ram, the pc never crashes.. possibly drivers?

- i recently installed openSUSE 10.2 on a seperate partition, but the problem had been happening before that. SUSE loads correctly.

hmm
