My Dell 600M overheats when executing a demanding task like playing a 3D game or 3D modeling......:( the overheating causes me to lose my USB and the computer sloooooooooowsss down.

I have decided to get a external cooling unit to try to cool it down, but i need to know about one that can actually do the job so I can play my games.

Any suggestions?!!!

get more case fans, get a case with better airflow. but first you should find out what is overheating. i would think that it is the videocard because it starts to slow down while you are playing games.

but he also states that he looses usb functionality. so i would think that the main heatsink may be packed with dust or the fan might be clogged. take it in to a tech and have it cleaned or if you have the guts and want to risk your warranty being voided, do it yourself, or maybe use a can of airdust stuff and blow thru the intake or exhaust ports.

and if those options are unavailible, get one of those things that bolt to the bottom as it is a laptop.
