XP Profile Problem

Whenever I log out , or just shut down , XP is unable to save my profiles.Anything I had on the desktop and other settings ( those associated with an XP Profile ) are gone.Its happened twice already , and im getting annoyed . I now refuse to shut down or restart , and just keep this damn thing on to avoid everything resetting again.Oh BTW , its a problem with the Roaming Profile.Last time it happened it was also the Roaming profile that couldn't be saved.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

are u set as the administrator or as a user? it might be something the administrator set.

Check to see that the path to your homefolder is correct, and that the XP machine has the permissions in place for you to write to it,,

otherwise, you will always get the default when you log off/on due to the lack of overwriting the old profile,,
