Best CPU cooler

Hey i need some help with choosing a CPU cooler as i am going to overclock a C2D E6600, im looking at the Scythe Ninja Plus (revision b) as it looks good with its design and fanless option, has anyone used this cooler before and what is its performance like?

Any other cooler suggestions would be good as i heard something about a zalman cooler and a tuniq tower cooler?? How do these compare to the Ninja?

Ive got the Tuniq it works great but its huge , i also fealt the need to lap mine
as the base wasnt to my liking . I wish i had waited and got this one AnandTech: Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme: Is More Better? but how was i to no .

if we're talking air coolers only the Scythe (i'm not familiar with the revision though) would be fairly high on the list of best performing coolers. others up there would be the Zalman CNPS 9700 and 9500 as well as the Thermaltake Big Typhoon and the Tuniq Tower you already mentioned.

The Scythe is very good but still it well known that Tuniq Tower 120 lapped is amazing.

i haven't really looked into it but i'll say one thing, if it's lapped better than Scythe's products (which i guess it is by your post) i'm impressed

Tuniq Tower>Scythe ninja>XP 120> XP 90>Zalman 9700 & 9500
And somewhere in the middle lies the TT Big Typhoon as NS mentioned.

With Artic silver 5 and a high CFM Fan of course.

okay thanks for the help guys ill look into the tuniq tower then - but i dont get the whole lapped thing, can someone explain this?

Lapped means sanding the surface of the HS and the surface of the chip a little to make better contact with the two thus lowering your temps quite a bit.
