I have my E6600 running at 1.39v, FSB upped to 1400 with linked RAM. My Temps are slowly fluctuatiung between 55*C and 61*C (under full load, with Orthos). (CPU is hitting 3149MHz)

Is this acceptable temperature, or could it be potentially harmful to my proc?

Well I don't think it's in the danger zone. Plus you're running Orthos. It stresses the computer more than, normal use, like games and stuff.

Yes but I'd still like it to be lower. I don't think I tightened the bolts on my CPU block tight enough or secured it to my mobo very well, so I'm going to redo that bit right now and try again, hopefully I will see better results. I'm seeing people with my same proc, and water cooler overclock and get 100% load temps lower then my idle temp of 42 (once computer is running for about an hour it hit between 38-42C, and I'm seeing people that idle at 25...) Results in about 2 hours.

no to be boastful, but i have the same processor running at 3.4 on air cooling maxing out at 55 degrees under full load! You could probably cool her down some more with some tweaking!
