tick tick tock

ok so recently my computer started ticking i ignored it for as long as possible until it started not booting me into windows.

so gr8 i mumbled and i went and bought a new hardrive assuming thats what it was.

so i installed linux this time and now i hear the same ticking and i cant boot into linux possible that it is my powersupply?

Plug the hard drive into another computer and see if it ticks.

ok its gotten even worse now its not the hardrive it will tick tick then it will freeze the computer for a while but eventually continue startup is taken forever if i start up wow per say it will completely restart. its driving me crazy someone help ><

it sounds like the psu to me. I held it up to my ear and it sounds like a grinding noise coming from within it. :/

check if all fan(s) spin properly in the PSU if they dont then ur PSu might of overheated and failed on u. sounds like you got dust in the bearing of the fan and its making grinding sounds.

Get a new PSU

sounds to me more like the cpu fan. it would especially explain freezing and lacklustre performance.

what components are in your pc?

If the PSU fan is not working properly, and the PSU overheats, it can cause instability.
