New setup, need critique before buying.

I plan on ripping out my current CD, DVD and hard drvies, so no need for those.

I'm trying to stay under $1000, so i dont have a lot of extra cash (shipping) to mess around with. I have a few questions. Is the built-in power supply of the Diablo ATX Mid-Tower Case (450w) enough to support everything? Also, are there any parts I can replace that can give me better preformance per dollrar without lowering the preformance much? And lastly and most importantly, do you see any conflicts between the parts listed, or is it all compatible? Thanks!

why is everyone going for a ATI radeon instead of a Nvidia

ATIs are better than NVidia. System looks good, although I would go with a pentium. You may want to get an SP-97 Thermalright cooler to keep temps stable. (Note, these are expensive, at least 50 bucks). You may not need that much RAM either, but obviously it's your call.

Yah your going to want to find a compatible motherboard. www.tigerdirect.com www.newegg.com. THose are the best places to buy from. I would say do this though.

Get a socket 754 mobo. Socket 754 is the socket designed for the Athlon 64. I am getting the Asus K8V Deluxe for my Athlon 64 3200+. That motherboard has excelent reviews.

Ok, made some modifications based on your suggestions. I'm wondering, is the 9800 prop 256mb worth the extra 100 bucks over the 128? Also, is my power supply good enough to feed my computer, and is my cooling good enough? Thanks!

128MB is fine for all current games, but in the future you will want 256. You will also want at least five fans in your case if you want to run a high-end system. My Thermaltake case I am getting has 7 fans. Since you are getting the 9800 Pro, 450watts will be enough power in the power supply.
