Hey,
I just recently bought a P4 2.8 cpu, with with an asus motherboard. I built it myself- but am wondering what are the best ways I can optimize it! Because I know it is well below it's potential. So besides the obvious get ram and update my video card, what else can I buy or do to make it run great!?

You can always take overclocking into consideration, other than that, you'll not reach your potential (because our wallets aren't rich enough =(.

P4 2.8 ghz 533 fsb,
256 DDR 2100, 32 MB video,
20 and 40 gig hard drives,
52x cd-rom, 48x burner

Well, your system not bad.Can watch movie n surf net.
Its just not very good for gaming.
No need to O/C cosz is just decrease your cpu lifetime.
U can increase your RAM to 512MB n buy a better graphic card.
Beside hardwares, u have 2 optimise your OS too for better performance. If u r using window Xp, try to tweak it.
It will make your system faster.

Thanks

Thanks everyone! I am thinking about getting a stick of DDR 2700 512mb and a Radeon 9600 pro. I think that should do it. I want it good enough to run America's Army and Unreal tournament 2004 pretty good.
