I have a stupid question.

It says ddr 333. I have a bunch of brand new ddr 400 512 sticks around. now will this mobo recognize this stick, just at a lower speed?

It should. But you know, motherboards can me picky about RAM. My motherboard only supports DDR266, but I am using DDR400.

I don't know. I had an old P2 motherboard which only read half of it (SDRAM). It happens. Should read all 512 though.
