I was able to add an animated gif for my avatar:

Now that I look at it, probably the reason it didn't work is becuase it's 90x100 pixels.

idiotec: it had forward slashes, which broke the BB code

mole1135: your avatar has been uploaded, but it isn't enabled yet. DMo224 and Larry are the ones that can do that.
