it kind of look like a ram issue, but the ram is testing fine. I built this computer for a friend. It is the same one that I built for me (except for his processor is a amd 5000, mine is an amd 4600)

thank you guy for the info. I'm going to have to look at the sound card. I"ve ran memtest for hours. the ram is fine

I think he might have failing equipment at his house because I can't get it to blue screen for the world. I had a similar problem once and my scanner was causing the problem.
