I won't be buying the case from Newegg but rather from a local store that has it for $100 and I don't need to pay shipping either.

Few questions:
1) Deciding between the DS3 and the P5N-E mobos. The $15 is a non-factor as is the SLI. Just want the stablest, most overclockable, easiest to use one.
2) Which HSF is best? Zalman 9700, 9500, or Scythe Ninja? Is there a big difference between the 9500 and 9700? How does the Scythe Ninja compare to both of those?
3) I see three types of G.Skill RAM (all 2GB(1x2) DDR2800), mine at $165, another at $180 and another at $200? What exactly is the difference between them?
4) I want to mount a fan on the side of the case. Which 120mm fans are good (preferably with a blue led, good balance between airflow and noise.)

Thanks in advance!

Good build! Well informed. The only thing I can possibly suggest is to get the NR green model of the G.Skill as it's not much more and faster.
I only say this to max out your C2D overclock.

Few questions:
1) They both OC very well but I prefer the DS3, still they both are great boards so just pick one. The SLI is only 8x and 8x though so it's not very useful i think.
2) The best is the Tuniq Tower if you can find one, then probably the Scythe Ninja or a Zalman 9500 or 9700 as they are comparable
3)Already answerd that heh. I would go with Green I can hit DDR2-1160 on mine.
4) Good fans that blow hard (heh) but aren't too noisy are these

I have them and they really aren't noticeable unless the room is completely silent. They give good airflow too.

Here's the actual link to your build

My inputs:

Change the mobo to this one

The case is a bit too expensive but if thats what you want, then go for it, but here is a good one

That particular brand of PSU I heard is good so stick with it. Other than that...... it looks like a good build to me. Kind of still high in price range though considering that my builds I created are just almost at that price range and it includes both OS and a 19" or 22" monitor. Hm......

To start things off.... nice build!

1. DS3

2. The 9700 is a little cooler/louder/bigger than the 9500. "Best" kind of depends on if you like noise or not. The Scythe Ninja (coupled with a quiet fan like a Scythe S-Flex or a Noctua) is one of the best quiet coolers out there. I've heard of lots of mounting problems with the Ninja Rev. B and C2D boards though. Thermalright Ultra-120 and a quiet fan will work just as well. If you don't care about noise, the Zalman 9700 is one of the coolest I believe.

3. Some of the ram timings are different. Yours is CAS5, which is slightly slower than CAS4. Also, some of the voltages are higher/lower.

4. Nexus and Scythe make good fans but they're a little spendy and I'm not sure if they have led ones or not.

Hey Sora,

My Build has the red G.SKILL RAM, should I change it to the green one if that one is much faster? I know that I said I will not be overclocking my system but I might though hehe.....

If I should change it to the green one...... this one just tell me and Ill change it :D

Thanks

I didn't suggest it becuase that ram will max out OC on an E6600 if you ever wanted it to but sure if you have the money go for it...my green is amazing.

Is that a good thing if the green ram will max out OC on an E6600? Maybe it will fry the CPU to death wakaka which brings me to remind myself to bring it to work (CompUSA) and get a replacement plan for it right after I buy it from Newegg incase anything happens to that CPU. I might bend a pin or something when I install it haha :D

Just get the Green and you'll be fine. My Green hits DDR2-1160 lol which will max out an overclock and still probably be Cas 4 lol.

Good ram but overkill. That's 80 bucks more than his original RAM...the green is only i think 15 more. The HZ's are amazing ram for the price as well but not needed. It's his choice but I would just go with the green since they are so good for the price.
