Amd 939 4000 Or Amd 64 X2 3800

I plan on building another comp with parts I've picked up cheap only thing I need is the CPU. It will be used strictley for gaming. I have a DFI 939 MB, 7900gs, 2 gb of g skill mem and a FSP PS so I'm not gonna go core duo... seriously which one would you choose and why? 939 AMD64 4000 or 3800 x 2

if it were me I would go for something like this... dual core and 1MB L2 cache... best of both worlds...

but If I had to choose... I would probably say the 4K, for the L2 cache, if it's for gaming... but if you going to go with some multi-tasking, while gaming, then the 3800 X2

Most of the new games are multi-threaded, so just get 3800 x 2

I had the opty in mind but didnt want to spend the extra cash.
The only game I play now is CSS do you think there would be a noticable difference between the 4000 and 3800 x 2

there would be no noticble difference between those two cpus , the graphics card will make the difference.

I went ahead and went with the Opty 165 hopefully I get a good one.

Well was upset when i received the LCB9E stepping but it oc's nicely @ 2.8 my idle temp is 35c load is in the low 40's
prime 95 and orthos stable for hours. Gonna try to push it to 3+ tomm.

Got it up to 2925.5 prime95 1hour idles 35.5c load low 40's still.
It wont post at 330 x 9 to go any further I'll probably have to bump the volts or loosen the timing right now running 2.5-3-3-6 Think it would be worth it?
