Core 2 Duo Roadmap?

I'm ready to build my new computer, but I'm quite sure that as soon as I do it, Intel's new processors will be out. I know...There's something new always around the corner, but I'd hate for that something to be next week! I'm thinking right now about the E6600.

Any insight in to Intel's near-term roadmap would be appreciated!

Bang for buck i think the E6600 wont be beaton for a while, if i was getting a new processor it would be this one.

Yeah these bad boy's will do you in for a long time, I wouldn't worry bout it.

AMD's new architecture will be out June/July which will be 40% faster.

My other thought about this is when the price might drop due to newer processors / architectures...

It's said to be Intel is dropping their prices in April, On the 12th. The E6700 will go from 512$ to 312$, An the Quads will go from 800 - 900, To 530$.

Someone here had a price chart at one point.
