laptop troubles

hi,my nephew has a acer aspire 3000 laptop,he said that a message came up on screen ,dosent really remember what it was,he click yes and now it will not startup,i took the battery off and tried it with the ac adapter and tried just the battery ,still no go.no power,anyone have any ideas what could cause this.thanks

so what your saying is that it wont turn on when you press the power button? (can u hear the HD spin and the fan running?)

hi,what i did was take out the memory,reseated,works fine now.thanks
