I want a simple program that will disable my USB or stop power to it. I think if I manually go and disable it or tweak a setting in device manager I can accomplish this, but I would like for me to be able to set a timer when the USB cuts off so I don't overcharge my iPod while I sleep. I saw an external device for purchase online, but I'm hoping to download some software for free. I know this would at least be possible using javascript and clicking the disable USB option in device manager, but perhaps someone has already written a script for this?

does anyone even use these forums?

low hit web site or just too complex of a question...?

Re:

Hello,

When the iPod is connected to a power source (whether it be power outlet or USB port), your iPod will stop charging when it reaches full capacity. It won't overcharge.

Therefore it's safe to leave your iPod connected to a USB port, regardles of whether the battery is fully charged or not.
