blue death screen when formatting

i get the blue screen of death everytime i try to format the computer. wats up with that?

more info.... can u like tell us the error # or something, but since i no nothing righht now, check ur disk for errors using chkdisk

you tried formatting while logged in to windows ? how about booting from a start up cd with command prompt ?

nevamind, i got the problem solved. but now i got a new problem. the HD wont format. it stays at 0% with no error.


im fixing this computer for someone because he got a virus. this computer cannot go into windows because the windows xp files have been deleted by the virus.

That sucks, i think its messed up your bios you might want to try and format it from there.

how ever i try to format it. it doesnt format. also the weird thing is that the HD is in FAT32.
