Honestly the mouse in terms of accuracy is usually very minute difference in optical mouse and stuff....if it fits your hand well and it has two buttons go for it.

after reading this thread, i just ordered a G5 and an ICEMAT.

Well the ICEMAT is made of glass. Yea I have a standard mousepad too. The MX518 is as smooth as butter on it.

i use a G5 on a hard wood desk durface, and its smooth as ****....i think mouse pads are too restrictive.

my only complaints of an icemat is that you have to clean it alot like every other day if you play alot. I usually clean it every week

Well your wrong using the mosue on hard wood desk surface actually damages your mouse skates. Take a look at em...they are probably badly scratched up by now. Too much friction on a hard wood desk...thats why they make mouse pads...I have a 17 inch one myself
