Hard Disk Problem

Greetings...First of all its my first post here so hi to everyone..hehe. I have a question though. I have a hard disk which is partitioned into two drives mainly C: and D: ...In partition C: , it seems that the space is continously being eaten up until it displayed a total of 258 MB (yeah MB) remaining space. Ive conducted scans using AVG but no results. I've formatted my C: partition yesterday but the problem is still the same. The D: partition on the other hand doesnt suffer like that on the C: partition. What might be the problem guys? THanks for the reply ^^

isnt D: a cd/dvd drive? and isnt ur windows installed on ur C: partition ?
