New computer xp and vista

hows it going?
i have just bought a new computer, and i'm looking to install vista.
I have a legit version of xp on cd and vista home premium upgrade (since it was $150AUD considering i'm a student).

Whats my best way to do a clean install of vista on my new computer?

Should i install xp then install the vista HP upgrade cd?

or use one of the loopholes to clean install vista ....

suggestions and help appreciated..

is there any diff between installing xp then vista HP upgrade
and
plain installing vista HP of a retail copy ???

install xp and then vista either on seperate partitions or hdd's its ure choice

i suggest dong a dual boot to start off just in case you dont like vista you can always switch back and forth
