Motherboard recommendations, please?

It has been about 4-5 years sinced I have built a computer, and my wife is on me about getting another one up and running(right now, all we have in the house is my laptop)

I was wanting to put together a computer out of slightly older compnents...years ago, the second or third fastest component was MUCH cheaper than top of the line..was wondering if this is still true.

Also, AMD or Intel porocessor?

I have a bunch more questions, but don't feel right flooding one post with them.

intel core 2 duo is the best performance/price ask anything you want in one post ill answer it here and now
