Recently, my second hard drive has been acting very choppy while under load. It seems as though it locks up my system anywhere from 2-10seconds every couple minutes. It gets really annoying when this happens in games. I checked the transfer mode to make sure it's on DMA mode and it's on DMA 6 at the moment. Anyone know what this issue could be?

Two 160GB HD's
When ever I use my slave drive, that is when the choppiness starts, be it to extract a file or play a game stored on the drive. This just started recently and it's a fairly new drive. Not sure what the issue is.
Edit: After being in a game for 10-15min, it starts to run smoothly and normally again.
