Thermal Grease.

Have a 2.4ghz with stock heatsink and fan, The heatsink just has the stock thermal grease on it will i see a difference in degrees if i put artic silver or another kind on it?
Right now i got 45.c on idle and 57.c on load is this ok?

I don't know what it will do for you and dont know what the factory fan or thermal grease is like. I can tell you though i built the new system in my sig and used the arctic 5 thermal grease and my prescott idles at 38c and highest has been 45c during long game play in unreal 04. Oh I broke the factory heat sink housing so i bought the zalman cpu cooler listed below also.

the factory stuff is normally thermal tape and fairly crappy. I think using artic silver will yield you 1 - 5 degrees cel depending on how good or bad the thermal tape on your particular heat sink is.
