Can't See Cd Drives!!

I just got a new motherboard and installed another 512 of RAM and my 2.8 processor and now when i go into windows i can't see my cd drives. When i go into my device manager they are there but it says the registries are corrupt. i went into my bios and they are all there. should i reinstall windows...format...i am so lost!

are the ide cables upside down? probably not but i think you should reformat and start over.
