burning a .img image file using nero express

hello

i am trying to burn an image file of the format .img, when i try to use nero express i get the message
unexpected file format.

my computer has some how associated even image files with paint shop pro.

can you guys help me and tell me how to burn the .imb file, can i not do it using nero, do i need to use some other burning software, or do i need to rename my image file?

hmm this is alongshot but try renameing your image file to xxxx.iso ,, might work

i tried to the change the extension to.iso and burn the dvd and got the following error message from nero

"sorry, your compilation cannot be written on this kind of disc. please insert a disc of the correct type or modify the settings of your compilation to make it compatible with the current disk.


disc required for the compilation: ML Disk
Disc type in the recorder: DVD+R



what is an ML disk?
s it a multilayer disk, if it is , why cant i burn the image on a regular singl layer dvd?
